Robinson & Powell Associates of Hampton Roads, Incorporated is proud to announce the launch of Mixin’ With Beats Academy. We invite everyone to join us on this journey to enlighten our community youth via a new platform for success and fun while building entrepreneurial roots.

 Robinson & Powell Associates of Hampton Roads, Incorporated was established in memory of my parents, former educators. After my retirement as an educator for many years, I wanted to continue making a difference in the lives of youth. While serving as an elementary school principal, I recognized that children loved music, and I observed their high interest and positive responses from participating in music-related activities.

I knew that it would be essential to provide learning in a non-traditional setting to continue my passion. So, I started jotting down possibilities and engaged in conversations with my friends who are business owners and mentors.

While having my “aha” conversation with my husband, I shared my vision. My husband has many years of experience in deejaying, and I solicited his services. I decided to pursue my dream by creating a free academy for our youth to learn the fundamentals of deejaying, mixing music, and being exposed to various music-related career pathways. But more importantly, my focus would be on cultivating a fun learning experience!

My final decision was to establish Robinson & Powell Associates of Hampton Roads, Incorporated – Mixin’ with Beats Academy as a pathway to inspiring “rhythm to success.”
